Such a joy to spend 40 irregular hours a week on you feet, moving, cleaning, customer servicing... Well it leaves me rather exhausted sometimes and forgetful. I've actually been dressing to my satisfaction lately. I'm out of the style rut of working for a company that was very un-me, Yet still in the general style rut that is summer. Cold weather and layers please? Anyway picking up a camera at the end of the day has had little appeal. I've been more make dinner and plop down on the sofa with Netflix. The other day I broke this routine just a bit so here are some photos..

On the Road
I have titled this post borrowing the title of a book I strongly disliked. Oh well.
Just an addition to my last post with photos from the ride from Detroit to Traverse City. How it all worked. I got on a Grayhound at 12am in Chicago, arrived in Detroit at 6am, my mom picked me up at the bus station and it was straight to Traverse.

Vacation all I ever wanted
It's not often in my life that I am able to have anything resembling a vacation. You know getting away from your daily life and normal setting. no work, no worries, beaches, family all this. I grew up going camping at least once every summer. This was the only kind of vacation my family went on really, but it is has become one of my most treasured memories. We'd go up north in Michigan to Manistee, set up the tent, spend days on the beach on lake Michigan, play in the water, eat delicious campfire curry, and go to town for ice cream.
This 4th of July was a variation of those childhood memories. No tent involved but everything else wasn't too far off. My first visit to my dads new house in Traverse City. A pretty green houses surrounded by flowers, berries, and trees. A drive to the beach in Mannestee. kitchen made curry, thrift shopping, and of course ice cream.
Goodbye. more photos actually coming soon!
